Residents take matters into their own hands

Past. Gordon Williams, Allanridge:

The residents of Allanridge are sick and tired of the lack of service delivery in their town.

The residents cleaned up around all of the electrical substations and put up solar lights, which members of the community bought with their own money.

Due to the lack of security guards, lights and patrolling officers, the cables at these substations are stolen regularly.

The post office in Allanridge is also a regular target for robbery during pension payout.

Here, too, there is a lack of police patrols.

The post office itself has no security measures in place. It is very easy to gain access.

It is only by the grace of God that no one was killed during the last robbery, during which a policeman was shot.

After the failed robbery a prominent businessman installed devils fork fencing.
