Louis Swart, Bronville:
I would like to bring to your attention that we are constantly being disturbed by excessive and unreasonable noise from one of our neighbours.
They usually play very loud music and have a big crowd of young people in attendance every weekend from 01:00. This does not only happen on special occasions but every weekend after gathering spots have closed.
They then continue at my neighbour’s house, with their vehicles parked in front of my property even though I have asked them numerous times not to park there.
This is very disturbing, as I have an ill wife who needs all the rest she can get. The noise also disturbs our other, elderly neighbours. I have spoken to the neighbour since 2020, asking him politely to stop playing loud music. He stopped but then started again last year. I have kept records of all the times I have spoken to the police since then.
I have not been getting any kind of assistance one would expect from the police since November 2022.
I even opened two cases. I always call for a follow-up on them, but they always transfer me to the Crime Intelligence division, who never show up.
I would love it if the commander of the Bronville police station, Brig. Mzondi Mojafi, or other police officials I have interacted with could come and see what happens here in the early hours of every weekend, and stop sending police vans that never stop and take a look. As a result, members of the neighbourhood have drawn up a petition.
On 6 April I went to court to inquire about the cases I opened but was told they are not listed on their system. I need help, since the law is failing me right now.
