As the country is set to launch 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence on Friday (25/11), Free State Rainbow Seeds (FSRS) has decided to join the drive and grow awareness in communities, as well as show support to victims of GBV.

The FSRS would like to send this message through Red Lips Fridays. Everyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, are encouraged to wear red lipstick on Fridays during the 16 days. These are this Friday, as well as 2 and 9 December.

“We are in talks with different stakeholders to take part of this initiative, including the Lejweleputswa District Municipality, Santaco, various supermarkets and NGOs,” says Tshidiso Koena, spokesperson.

The FSRS has been awarded the Human Rights and Advocacy grant for Key and Vulnerable Populations in the Lejweleputswa District, under the Primary Recipient Aids Foundation of South Africa. – Marti Will
