Free State Care in Action (VVA) Welkom celebrated Mandela Day with the Mmantshebo Primary School in Thabong on Thursday (21/07). Ramojabeng Makgalemele (HOD) and Hilda Morake (coordinator: School-based Support Team – SBST) welcomed the VVA team, as well as Doves Funeral Services who sponsored the gifts and stationery that were handed out to all Gr. 7’s in attendance. A total of 173 learners attended the event. The newly appointed VVA auxiliary worker, Juliet Makhema, spoke on “Education – the key to success.” At the event are from the left Patrick Luke, Estelle Mathyzer, Bheula Maitland, Alina Nthebe (all four of Doves Welkom), Dineo Senatla (VVA Welkom volunteer), Makhema (VVA Welkom auxiliary worker), Martin van Niekerk (Doves Welkom), Hilda Morake (SBST coordinator: Mmantshebo Primary School), Makgalemele (HOD) and Joline Delport (VVA Welkom social worker).
