A Matjhabeng man, Clinton Pule, is expected to spend 20 years in jail after being found guilty of raping a 25-year-old woman in Welkom in March 2020. The sentence was handed down in the Virginia Regional Court on 1 June.
Pule confronted the woman next to the Welkom Swimming Pool in Jim Fouchépark. He raped her after forcing her into an empty stand at knifepoint. Pule was apprehended while walking away from the scene.
