The icy cold weather on the night of the 20th annual Mediclinic Welkom Vista Eskom Athletic Club FS Women’s Race – Celebration, Gift of Time – did not dampen the great spirit and excitement of the participants.

“The club and sponsors say thank you to the athletes who followed the route to success, claiming their gold 20th celebration medal as a reward, and honouring the ladies race with their presence,” says Hilde du Plessis, race convenor and founder.

The race took place on 19 August and consisted of different races to make up the exciting event.

“To all who started and finished the race in honour of family, love and joy, who supported the beneficiaries of the events of Cansa and the Charlotte Moll Haven and who helped to create an awareness for SANBS, we say thank you.

“What made this year even more special was the support received throughout.

“Thank you, in return, for the opportunity to host the event for the 20th year in partnership with Vista, the media sponsor, and the main sponsor Mediclinic.

“The club salutes all sponsors who helped build the product of success over the past 20 years,” says Du Plessis.
