World Blood Donor Day will be celebrated on Friday, 14 June.
This year, the SANBS, under its ongoing and impactful #WeAreThePulse campaign, seeks to celebrate the life-saving contributions of blood donors across the nation and to inspire new donors to join in this vital act of service.
To celebrate this auspicious day, the Goldfields Mall’s World Blood Donor Day celebration will be held on Friday at Entrance 2 (Rhino) between 09:00 and 16:00. The target is 50 units of blood.
World Blood Donor Day is a global event established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness about the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts.
This year, the SANBS highlights the essential contribution blood donors make in keeping people, and communities, healthy.
It also serves as a call to action toward greater contributions to saving lives by donating blood regularly.
