A 35-year-old female police officer was shot in the stomach when three armed men, wearing balaclavas, stormed into the Masilo satellite police station in Theunissen.
On Wednesday, 7 June, the police constable was on duty when three unknown men entered the premises at about 01:30.
“They started to fire shots towards the on-duty police officer, who sustained a gunshot wound in her stomach. She managed to return fire and they fled.
“The member was taken to a hospital. A case of attempted murder has been registered for further investigation. Residents are requested to provide information regarding these three African males,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police.
