Safer South Africa will be presenting programmes at Eldoret Secondary School in Odendaalsrus

The Safer South Africa Foundation and its partners will be implementing the Communities and Justice Programme at the Eldoret Secondary School, Odendaalsrus in this first academic term.

“The aim of the programme is to change the lives of the South African youths,” says Pitso Mereko, provincial co-ordinator, Free State Safer South Africa Foundation.

There will be 100 learners, ranging from Gr. 8 to Gr. 11, participating in this academic programme.

“Certificates are awarded only to learners who complete the programme,” says Mereko.

The programme consists of experiential training, and will include presentations, discussions, role playing and visiting facilities like the Magistrate’s Court and correctional centres.

The lectures will be conducted by SAPS, Department of Roads and Transport, the National Prosecuting Authority (prosecutors), correctional officials, the South African Human Rights Commission, and the Banking Association of South Africa.
