The Bible has a lot to say about the power of the spoken word.
Our first exposure to this truth is in the beginning where God spoke creation into existence.
The application for our lives is the same. Proverbs tells us that the tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
So we have to be aware that our words carry power. Words create worlds.
And the world we want to live in has a great deal to do with our confession.
So, what will we confess?
Confession is not just about acknowledging mistakes or weaknesses. Confession in scripture is more about agreeing with what God says about us.
When it comes to dreaming big and doing great things, we tend to give up before we have even started, and then fall into the familiar, repeated pattern of telling ourselves that we cannot do it.
Agree with what God says about you.
Rest assured and just know that He has promised to be with us every step of the way and has gone into our new year to prepare good things for us.
We can have a great or miserable year, the choice is ours.
Agree with God and see his result manifest.
I want to leave you with a confession you can speak over yourself everyday.
