Two brothers who were pointed out by a community member in Thabong were arrested on suspicion of housebreaking and theft.
On 11 May, members of the Welkom Public Order Policing, led by WO Thabo Booy, were busy with crime combating in Thabong when they were stopped by a resident who reported an incident of housebreaking and theft to them.
She told the police that she had information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects and the stolen items.
They followed up, and a house in Orange Groove, New Stands, Thabong, was identified.
Two brothers aged 26 and 28 were found with stolen items, and arrested.
In a separate incident the police were again approached by a community member who reported a suspect who was wanted for housebreaking, theft and malicious damage to property.
A man wearing a red T-shirt was identified.
When he saw the marked police vehicle approaching him, he fled and they pursued him. He was found hiding in a house in Thabong.
A 36-year-old suspect was arrested for housebreaking and theft and malicious damage to property, that was committed earlier in May.
The three suspects have appeared in the Welkom Magistrates’ Court.
