Welkom police have clamped down on drug dealers in Bronville and Thabong, arresting two men and a woman found in possession of large amounts of crystal meth and Mandrax.
Members of Welkom Public Order Policing (POP) received information from Bronville residents on 10 May about a man allegedly delivering drugs in Winnie Park.
A waylay was conducted in Erfdeel Road, and a vehicle matching the description of one owned by the suspect was stopped.
- The police found 338 Mandrax tablets. A 50-year-old foreign national was arrested for dealing in drugs and the vehicle was seized. In a separate incident, the police received information about drugs being sold in Thabong.
A residence was subsequently approached wherein police found 191 Mandrax tablets, two halved Mandrax tablets, seven crystal meth sachets, as well as cash on a table.
A sixty-two-year-old man was arrested. Police also arrested a 39-year-old woman for possession of 71 quartered Mandrax tablets, and 31 halved Mandrax tablets.
