A man (54) suffering from a mental illness went missing from his home on 24 October at about 09:00.
The police ask for the help of the community in finding Phumelelo Ndzobane.
“The sister-in-law of the missing man said that Ndzobane has a mental illness. Ndzobane spent 14 years living on a dumping site before he came to stay with them. Apparently he likes wondering around picking up dirty commodities,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa SAPS.
Thakeng says that apparently on that morning he went missing, he was seen bathing, and combing his hair, which was not normal for him. “After he ate, he left and did not tell anyone where he was going. His sister-in-law, looked for him, and the next day she looked again, but he could not be found.
Ndzobane was wearing a brown leather jacket, blue t-shirt, jean trouser and black gum boots.
Anyone with information to trace Phumelelo Ndzobane, can contact Det. Sgt. Ntholi Mothudi of the Virginia Detective Services on 067-242-4514 or Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
