Five top ranking SAPS officers have been to top ranking managerial positions in the Free State Police structures.


Five top ranking SAPS officers have been to top ranking managerial positions in the Free State Police structures.

The appointments were done by the acting provincial commissioner of the SAPS in the Free State, Maj. Gen. Solly Lesia; the deputy provincial commissioner for Crime Detection, Maj. Gen. Apaphia Modise; and the provincial head of Crime Intelligence, Maj. Gen. Agnes Makhele.

The first two promotions were announced on Monday, 3 October. Major Generals Masebueng Meriam Mochologi and Liesbeth Matobako, previously provincial heads of Visible Policing and Finance and Administration Services respectively, were promoted to the new district commissioner of Overberg in the Western Cape, and Maj. Gen. Matobako joins SAPS headquarters in Pretoria responsible for salaries, respectively.

On 4 October Brig. Christoffel Johannes van der Merwe was promoted to provincial head of Serious and violent crimes investigation, Brig. Marriet Makhosazane Ntuli to head of commercial crimes investigation and Brig. Khedamile Godfrey Ntlatito to provincial head of police emergency and Firearms, Liquor and Second-hand goods (Flash).

This last appointment is a merger of provincial emergency services (PES) and Flash.
