The Ventersburg police is looking for a truck driver who allegedly shot one of the thieves who robbed his truck.
On Saturday, 20 January, the police received information about a shooting incident at a truck stop in Ventersburg.
When they arrived at the scene, the body of a man was found lying on the N1-road with a shot wound at the back of his neck.
According to witnesses, three men allegedly robbed the truck and the truck driver confronted them.
Three shots were fired and the alleged thief was hit and died on the scene.
The other two fled with stolen hair pieces and other items were left on the ground. A bag full of hair pieces was found next to the deceased and they were seized.
The truck driver drove off without reporting the incident.
A case of murder has been registered for further investigation.
The deceased was identified as Mokhethi Hlakoana (19) residing at Mmamahabane, Ventersburg by his next of kins who were summoned at the scene to identify him.
