The Welkom police are looking for a man who they believe can help them with an investigation into the murder of his wife and baby.
On 16 April 2023, at about 12:15, the family’s neighbour in Katanga discovered the two bodies.
The bodies were identified by the next of kin as those of Ratiso Dlengwayo (22), a Zimbabwean national, and her child, Progress Mhofu (three months old). Both their throats were slit and they were certified dead at the scene.
“A double murder case is being investigated. The husband, Jesus Mhofu, who is a foreign national, is nowhere to be found,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, spokesperson for the Lejweleputswa police.
