Brig. Mzondi Mojafi, Lejweleputswa district police commissioner, and his team reached out to residents of Meloding on 16 July to address the community’s concerns.

First, residents were given an opportunity to raise issues. Those with complaints about the police and their investigations had their concerns noted, with plans made for follow-up and feedback check-ins.

It was also emphasised that residents must not take the law into their own hands, but rather work together with the police, especially when patrols are conducted.

Mojafi mentioned that training would be provided for the community policing forum (CPF) committee and community patrollers.
