The Hennenman police have requested assistance from the community in finding Wouter Reeves who they believe can assist with investigations after a red Kymco 6T300i scooter, that was taken for repairs in July 2022, was allegedly stolen.

A case of theft was opened after a 62-year-old man alleged that he took his motorbike for repairs after a fall with it. His neighbour offered to repair the bike, telling the complainant that he is a mechanic and that the repairs would cost him R700. The motorbike was delivered for repairs on 6 July.

“The complainant further alleges that he made regular contact with the mechanic to enquire about the motorbike and he responded that he was still waiting for the indicator that he had ordered,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police.

On Sunday, 20 November, the complainant and a family member visited the mechanic to enquire about the progress of the repairs.

He was told that it had been stolen out of the yard. “The man told the complainant that he will pay him R20 000 for the motorbike. The next day he was informed that the man had taken his employer’s bakkie and disappeared,” says Thakeng.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Wouter Reeves should please contact Det. Sgt Seleke Khosana of the Vehicle Crime Investigation unit on 073-460-2760 or Crime Stop number 08600-10111.
