Members of the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF) took the initiative of reaching out to needy learners of the Lemotso Primary school in Thabong, and donated shoes to them.

“On Tuesday, 8 November, the committee members of the three sub sectors making Sector 4, bought eight pairs of shoes out of their own pockets to make the lives of learners better. The eight learners who benefitted were identified by the school management team,” says Capt. Malebo Khosana, Sector 4 commander.

The Lemotso Primary School principal, Nthatise Maliehe, and the deputy principal, Teboho Phale, welcomed the initiative.

Six learners were presented with the shoes while the remaining pairs were handed to Maliehe and Phale for safekeeping should more learners who are in need, be identified.

“This initiative is good to better the lives of the learners. This initiative is huge and God will bless you as you extend your help to other learners,” Phale told the police members.

The sector commander, Khosana, gave a brief background of the initiative, and he lauded the CPF members for making this project a success as a means of launching their festive season programme.

“We will continue to show love to our children, especially during this festive season. The police need the community and communities need the police for a better and safer Free State province,”said Maj. Gen. Lerato Molale, district commissioner of Lejweleputswa.

The committee members of the three sub sectors that make up Sector 4, took it upon themselves to gather the funds required to buy the shoes and improve the lives of some needy learners who were identified by staff of the Lemotso Primary school in Thabong.
