Two men have been arrested for possession of drugs in an abandoned and vandalised building in Welkom.
On Sunday, 20 April, members of the Public Order Policing (POP), acting on intelligence driven information, saw two male suspects who attempted to run away.
Members gave chase, and the two foreign nationals were caught and found in possession of the Cat drug.

The POP members arrested two males aged 33 and 45,” says Sgt Palesa Thabana, spokesperson for the police in Lejweleputswa.
■ In a separate incident, proactive operators of Operation Vala uMgodi were busy with disruptive policing actions against illicit mining when they received a tip-off from a member of the public about drug peddling at a house in K6 Kutlwanong near Odendaalsrus.

A case docket of dealing in drugs has been opened at the Odendaalsrus Police Station.
