Three suspects from Odendaalsrus, ranging from 34 and 37 years old, have been arrested for possession of stolen property. One of the suspects is a foreign national, another is a pregnant woman.

They were arrested on Thursday (20/07) in Van Riebeeck Street, Bothaville CBD.

Sgt. Ernest Maretele and Const. Tumi Maloisane, members of the police’s highway patrol, were busy with vehicle patrols in the Bothaville CBD when they noticed a woman moving about suspiciously. She was being followed by two women wearing the uniform of a clothing store in town.

The police noticed that the woman appeared anxious. She seemingly panicked and ran to a blue Toyota Corolla with a Gauteng registration plate, and entered it. The other two women followed.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the police members requested to search it. They found three refuse bags containing new clothes and shoes, with the price tags still attached, from different clothing shops. One of the suspects had already been arrested in one of the clothing stores for being in possession of stolen items.
