A man of God who is led by the Holy Spirit has scribed two books and a children’s colouring book, to extend his ministry and to fulfil his dream.
Pastor Shane L. Harrison is the shepherd of the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in Bultfontein.
He wrote The Miracle of the Resurrection and Amongst the Olives to not only proclaim the Word of God, but also to generate much needed funds for the church’s construction project.
Harrison envisages a youth centre next to the church building.
“The Covid-19 pandemic halted the project, but now we are in full swing to carry on with God’s work,” he says.
As its title indicates, the first book deals with the miracle of Christ’s resurrection. The second book deals with the biblical use of olives, olive oil and uses references from the Book of Genesis, right through to Revelation.

“In fact, the dove Noah sent out from the ark returned with an olive branch,” says Harrison.
“My first book is with the publisher, but I need funds to complete the publication.
“I am self-publishing my second book and here too I need funds to get it on the bookshelves. I have also compiled a colouring book of favourite farm animals,” he says.
Other books he has in mind include The Kingdom and a book asking the difference between the Old Testament and New Testament. Harrison farms with livestock and breeding and is now expanding his farming activities to include pecan nut and olive orchids. He farms with his partner and fiancé, Enti Rindlinghuys.
Harrison studied at the University of the Free State (UFS) and was awarded a BA (Honours) degree in Theology in 2005. He has also earned a diploma in Biblical Counselling in 2003 from the Elken Primaurius Private College. In 2006 he was ordained as a pastor by the Federation of Christian Churches.
He joined the AFM church in Bultfontein in 2010. Prior to this he was a chaplain in the South African Police Service (SAPS) for 11 years as a senior chaplain.
