A man (36) has been sentenced to 20 years in jail for rape.
Tshepo Duncan Ncheche was sentenced in the Welkom Regional Court on Friday, 24 January.
This follows an incident on Sunday, 4 August 2019, when he accosted and raped a then 24-year-old female victim in Thabong.
Ncheche was arrested on 24 August 2019.
The investigation was led by Sgt Themba Jilimba of the Thabong Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit.
Ncheche was found guilty on one count of rape, one count of kidnapping, and guilty of the pointing of an object likely to lead a person to believe it is a firearm.
