The Covid-19 pandemic contributed in the closure and losses of many businesses, but Keketso Mokgothu started a successful business called Mtswako Immune Booster Pty Ltd.

Mokgothu is from Kutloanong in Odendaalsrus and she is the founder of Mtswako Immune Booster and they are made by processing natural ingredients such as ginger, lemon, tumeric, garlic and honey to produce natural immune boosters in a form of juices, shots and purees.

The unemployment rate and the promotion of healthy living during the pandemic was an opportunity for Mokgothu to start her business. People were very health conscious then and the immune booster was a good business opportunity.

Her love for cooking made it a smooth ride into her business and although things did not work out how she planned, she attended short courses in the food industry and that is how she knew how to produce her immune boosters.

Mokgothu started selling the boosters in her community and after receiving positive feedback from her buyers, she then had an idea to make compliant products.

The idea gave her an opportunity to become a local retail supplier and her current clients are Pick n Pay, Spar and Elizabeth Street Pharmacy.

Earlier this year she participated in the Food Lovers Market Seed of Change Competition and she won a contract to supply to them nationwide.
