Members of the Welkom K9 unit and counter narcotics team arrested two foreign nationals and seized drugs valued at just over a million rand in Odendaalsrus.
On Wednesday (26/07) at a flat in Odendaalsrus the police found a large quantity of drugs hidden in a couch. This included 584 g of crystal meth, 1 780 kg CAT, 2 278 kg of Butterscotch CAT, 872 g mixed CAT, and 48 g cocaine bullets with the estimated street value of R1 297 000.
In a seperate incident two days prior, the members of Bothaville police’s highway patrol were busy with their vehicle stop-and-go searches when they stopped a suspicious grey Tata Indica with a North West registration number.
Upon searching the vehicle, officials found 27 bags of dagga inside and arrested two suspects aged 22 and 35 years for possession of dagga. The vehicle was also seized.
Brig. Mzondi Mojafi, acting district commissioner of Lejweleputswa, praised residents of Odendaalsrus for trusting the police with sensitive information that led to the seizure of these drugs. He also lauded the police members for their swift reaction.
