Several cases of kidnappings, business- and house robberies have been reported at the Odendaalsrus Police Station.
The station commander, Col Thenjiwe Mkhumbeni, and her management urges residents to work together to ensure that the crime levels are brought to zero.
“Business people are advised to reinforce security during opening and closing times. If you suspect that you are being followed while travelling with your car, pass your home and drive to the police station or petrol station. Observe the colour of the vehicle, model and registration numbers. Suspicious looking vehicles and persons must be reported to the police,” says Mkhumbeni.
Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police, says residents must not look the other way when a crime is committed. “Report crime to the Odendaalsrus police station commander on 071-606-5303 or the Odendaalsrus Community Service Centre (CSC) on 082-864-0004.
