Two decomposed bodies were found in Virginia and the police need assistance in locating their relatives.

The first body was found by a shepherd at the Saaiplaas tailings dam on 26 January 2023, who then alerted the police.

At the scene, the police found the lifeless body of an African male in a decomposed state. He was shirtless, but wearing training shorts and shoes. He is about 1,7 m tall, with no hair. His complexion could not be determined.

The second body was found at the Tikwe River bridge on 3 September 2023 by a person who went to pray there. The body was found wearing a black jean, a green Springbok t-shirt, and no shoes. The deceased is approximately 1,7 m tall, with short black hair.

The two bodies are still at the government mortuary in Welkom; no one has come forward to identify them yet.
