A young Welkom businesswoman with a list of beauty titles and international modelling accolades to her name, has a passion for promoting her “world” to the youth of the Goldfields.
This passion includes imparting the business skills she has acquired, combined with knowledge about the world of beauty, pageantry and modelling, to produce well-rounded youngsters.
Rito Madingana, the force and face behind Rehoboth Models (R-Models), a registered nonprofit organisation (NPO), is an international model, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
Madingana has 25 years’ experience in pageantry, as well as runway and commercial modelling.
She has walked the runways of Paris, Italy, and New York and has featured in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, walking in garments designed by David Tlale and Rich Mnisi, just to mention a few.
Madingana has experienced working for Guess Clothing and Indlovukazi Designs. She has appeared on billboards and catalogues for Jet clothing, the Sunday Times, and the Love Story collections. The list goes on.
Madingana’s modelling career began at the tender age of three years, when she entered a Thabong pre-school pageant. Despite her failure to win, she did not give up and continued to enter more pageants until she was crowned Miss Junior City Council of Matjhabeng 2009.
Madingana furthered her studies in BCom Economics – and upon completing her studies, she entered Miss Goldfields 2014, which she won. This propelled her to Miss Free State, where she got her major break and was scouted by the Boss modelling agency (Africa and America). In 2018, she was in the top 20 for Miss South Africa.
“I am passionate about modelling, and I love how it makes you feel – bold and confident to face anything in this world. This is why I am inspired to share all the knowledge and wisdom I have acquired during my modelling journey,” she says.
“My ultimate goal is to groom our next Mr or Miss South Africa and top super models. I would like to invite parents with their girls and boys who are interested in joining the modelling world to join me,” she says.
“The R-Modelling School is a modelling school with a difference. We teach more about fashion modelling. We offer a comprehensive course where we not only teach the art of fashion modelling, but also enhance public speaking skills.”
Aspirant models will be given exposure in social skills etiquette, physical health, motor skills, self-esteem, self-confidence, modelling, discipline and time management, interview skills, public speaking, rhythm, musicality, proprioception skills, sensory development, walking techniques, and reading development.
The classes are free of charge and are offered on Saturdays at the Rovers Club squash courts, 58 Tempest Road.
