WORD FOR THE WEEK: For me, going into a new year is like starting a new chapter in life.

I always see it as a chance to write an incredible story about myself.

I pray that we all see the opportunities that are coming up this year and fully seize them.

In Genesis 26:12-14 we read that Isaac planted crops, and in the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. Isaac’s planting was informed by faith.

This reminds me of companies that continue to invest despite economic challenges.

When legislation dictated that they close, they did so. These companies were not deterred in the face of a bleak future caused by the pandemic. The belief that there would be an economy after the difficulties kept them expectant.

Beyond the rain, there will be sunshine again.

I encourage you to find the good in every situation. Hold on to it and use it as your fishing line.

Charles Dickens put it this way: “Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.”

Set out to achieve more this year, but start with an attitude of humility. We are the chosen ones of the Lord. He has good plans for all of us. Find your niche and work on it.

To the worker, I encourage you to do everything with all your heart.

I pray that you embrace 2022 with an open heart, and go forward with faith, hope and tenacity.Grace Mufara is of the Covenant Apostolic Church in Virginia
