New board of directors announced for water entity

The Vaal Central Water Board has announced the appointment of its new board of directors and the gazette of their new name.

The Vaal Central Water Board has announced the appointment of its new board of directors and the gazette of their new name.

The appointments were led by the minister of water and sanitation, Senzo Mchunu, after a thorough selection which was effective from 1 October.

“The board consists of esteemed individuals combined with vast experience from both the public and private sector. Their different backgrounds, insights, and expertise will prove their aim in driving the board’s vision forward,” said Lindiwe Mnguni, Vaal Central Water Board communication and marketing manager

They will ensure that the board aligns with the entity’s values and goals, and with the unique needs of the Northern Cape and the Free State.

In retaining the institutional memory, the 12-member board has four members who served in the previous board.

Another defining moment for the entity followed the announcement and gazette of the new name of the water board by the minister, transitioning from Bloem Water to Vaal Central Water Board on 14 July.

The entity pledges its full support to the new board and is confident in their ability to lead towards the realisation of the shared objectives and mandate.
