An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour in Bronville. He forced her into a shack and strangled her during the brutal attack.
On Friday (24/02), at about 14:25, the child was playing at her home when she was snatched by the man and forced into his shack.
“She could not scream as the perpetrator was strangling her while he raped her. A cousin arrived in the shack and the suspect ran away. The incident was reported to the Bronville police station,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police.
“We received information about the whereabouts of the alleged rapist in Oppenheimer Park, Thabong. Residents made a community arrest, the Thabong police arrived and the 25-year-old suspect was arrested for rape,” says Thakeng.
