The Welkom police are offering a R50 000 reward to trace the murderer of a 28-year-old woman who was found with her throat on a farm near Kutloanong thre weeks ago.
The police are still perplexed as to the identity of the young woman. All they have to go on are the clothes she was wearing at the time of her rape/murder that were found scattered in the veld around her.
The gruesome discovery of the body of this young woman sent shock waves through the community of Kutloanong.
The body was found on 31 August by a resident of a farm near the K10 section of Kutloanong who was busy cutting wood.
“The deceased could be 28 years old. She was wearing a wedding ring, and her clothes were scattered at the scene. Her throat was slit and it is suspected that she was raped,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng Lejweleputswa police spokesperson.
The police are investigating murder.
“Nobody has been reported missing and we are appealing to anyone who might have lost contact with a relative to report this to the Odendaalsrus Police Station,” says Thakeng.
