Rito Madingana, a Welkom model and beauty queen, is to present a modelling conference to educate aspiring models about the ups and downs, the pitfalls and the glory, of the modelling world.

“I want to teach models of all ages, shapes and sizes about the world of modelling and what to expect, and what to look out for,” says Madingana.

“Modelling can be an exciting career with many benefits, including travel opportunities, flexible hours and access to the latest fashion trends. However, with the pros we are bound to experience the cons. This is why I want to share my 20 years of modelling experience by educating and empowering the youth to reach for their dreams,” she says.

Madingana’s modelling conference is also aimed at addressing issues surrounding gender-based violence, and she will inspire young men and help women to speak out when experiencing bullying.

“My initiative is designed to educate, and share the relevant skills every model should have in order to have a successful career, as well as tools to prepare models for facing life challenges.

“I will teach them how to walk, turn, pose and answer questions, and we will do overall pageant preparation – including how to raise funds,” she says.

This free conference has limited space and is aimed at models of all ages, genders and size.

The girls must come in jeans and heels, and the boys in jeans and formal shoes.

Madingana is an international model who has walked the runways of Africa, New York City, Paris and Italy.

She was a Miss South Africa Top 20 finalist in 2018, and she was in the Miss Free State top five in 2015.

In 2014 Madingana was crowned as Vista Miss Goldfields.

She is the founder of Earthly Skin.
