One of the Goldfields’ own up and coming young models walked the runway for the South African Fashion Week.
Dimpho Cathrine Moyaki (19), who hails from Virginia, has made the region proud.
The former Miss Free State Teen and Miss Congeniality was part of the ultimate dream of any young model when she took part in fashion industry event on 27 and 28 September.
“Many people think I am older than my real age, because of the hardwork and dedication I have towards my career. I am the first in my family to move to Johannesburg, and I made the big move towards independence at the tender age of 17 years,” she says.
“To be acknowledged by people I admire in this industry makes the journey truly heart-warming. It makes me feel like all the sacrifices are worth it.
“Creativity does not wait for the perfect moment. It is the heartbeat of activism and dreams that are the fuel that drives our determination. I would love to thank everyone who has been supporting and holding my hand throughout this journey, especially my guardians. I am who I am because of them.”
Dimpho was crowned Miss Congeniality by Ace Models Welkom in 2021, and Miss Free State Teen in 2022.
She walked the runway for top South African designer Palesa Mokubung at this year’s event on Saturday, 28 September, at Melrose Arch.
