On 11 November, finalists of the Miss Great Banquet pageant visited the RCFA Bhubezi Fight Club for a self-defence session aimed at building confidence, awareness, and personal safety skills.
Community partnership initiative
The session formed part of a community outreach initiative led by Tawana Group in collaboration with Bhubezi Fight Club, reinforcing their shared commitment to youth empowerment and self-protection through practical training.
Under the guidance of the club’s experienced instructor, the finalists participated in interactive drills designed to teach basic defence techniques, situational awareness, and confidence in handling real-life challenges.

Enthusiastic participation

The instructor, Sensei Joe Gladstone Ralejoe, expressed pride in the group’s enthusiasm and openness to learning. “It was inspiring to see how eager and focused the finalists were throughout the session,” he noted.
The training provided the young women with valuable skills that extend beyond the pageant environment, equipping them with practical knowledge for personal safety in various situations.
Appreciation and future commitment
“Bhubezi Fight Club extends its appreciation to the Miss Great Banquet organisers and parents for allowing the finalists to participate in this empowering session,” Ralejoe stated.
The collaboration highlights the importance of community partnerships in providing young people with diverse learning opportunities that contribute to their personal development and safety awareness.
