Message of hope to be spread by true believers

“The people who sat in darkness saw a great Light; and Light has sprung up to those who sat in the region and shadow of death,” (Matthew 4:16). This is from the prophet Isaiah approximately 700 years before the coming of Jesus Christ.

“The people who sat in darkness saw a great Light; and Light has sprung up to those who sat in the region and shadow of death,” (Matthew 4:16). This is from the prophet Isaiah approximately 700 years before the coming of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah uses the phrase “walk in darkness”, while Matthew uses “sit in darkness”. It is as if there has been a spiritual, moral, and social decline from the time of this prophetic statement.

All of us would possibly agree that our world, country, and sense of community is continuing in a downward spiral of spiritual darkness, ignorance, blindness, error, and infidelity.

In Matthew 5:14 we read you are the light of the world; A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

After Christ left this world, He placed the responsibility of being a light on the shoulders of the church (Christians).

The scripture says we are his personal representatives on this earth. We have the responsibility to preach the gospel (good news) to the people in our country, cities, towns, and communities.

During my time of prayer, the Lord showed me a barn full of corn. I heard the Holy Spirit say to me: “This corn can lie in this barn for hundreds of years without being of any value, but the moment it is taken out of the barn and sown over the land it produces a harvest.”

It is as if the Lord once again wants to awaken in us the great command of Matthew 28:19: Go, infiltrate your city, town, and communities with the gospel.

The time has come for the church to break out of her walls and show those who sit in darkness the love of the Father. The time has come for the children of the Father to manifest him to a broken, hopeless, and sick world.

Isaiah 6:8 reads: “Then I heard the Lord say, ‘Whom shall I send? Who will be our messenger?’ I answered, ‘I will go! Send me!’ ”

  • I believe that every congregation has the responsibility to go preach the gospel timely and untimely. The Lord asks every church and congregation at this very moment: Who will go? What is your answer?Fans Botes, Doulos for Christ
