The AME Mt Horeb Church in Thabong, Welkom, held a successful Men’s Forum on Saturday, 17 February.

Several speakers, which included Adv. Gift Duncan Morolong (director of Andrews Attorneys Inc), Takalani Mpilo of Nematserani Marley in Pretoria, Rev Mpho Moerane of the University of Witwatersrand’s (Wits) research institute, and private nurse (PN) Masebotsa Molelle of Palliative Care at the University of the Free State (UFS) addressed those present on issues affecting them.

Mpilo, quantity surveyor by trade, spoke about the importance of role-modelling by fathers to their sons. Morolong emphasised the crucial role of leadership men need to play within their own homes and their societies.

Molelle advised men to be alert and consistently go for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests so that their prostate issues can be detected early and avoid unnecessary complications.

Members of the men’s missionary society of the church, Sons of Allen (SOA), who organised the event, expressed their gratitude for information they gathered.
