The Matjhabeng Local Municipality’s executive mayor, Thanduxolo Khalipha, hosted the Matjhabeng Men’s Conference on Friday, 13 October.
The event was orchestrated by different sectors that play a role within the community, with the primary focus of the conference being the tackling of critical issues experienced by members of the community.
Among the important points addressed during the conference were vandalism to public infrastructure, cable theft, gender-based violence (GBV), illegal mining, substance abuse, and lawlessness.
The conference served as a platform for open and direct dialogue on these issues, to highlight the importance of collective action and shared responsibility.
“The municipality would like to express its gratitude to the men who attended the conference to demonstrate their commitment to the well-being and prosperity of the community. The municipality is dedicated to translating the discussions and resolutions from the conference into concrete actions that will bring positive change to Matjhabeng.” said Khalipha.
