Acting on information the police raided a house in Bronville and seized 300 Mandrax tablets with the street value of R24 000.
“Members of Crime Intelligence received a tip-off and Welkom K9 Unit members were engaged which led to the suspects arrested with alleged Mandrax drugs,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa SAPS.
Thakeng says on 7 November the police received information from Bronville residents about a man dealing in drugs.
“The Welkom K9 Unit followed up and visited a house in Garden street, Bronville. The police found the tablets and a 28-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs,” says Thakeng.
“The District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj. Gen. Lerato Molale has applauded the residents of Bronville for trusting the police with this sensitive information which led to the arrest and seizure of the drugs. These people are destroying our nation. During this festive season there are more boots on the ground, to uphold the law,” says Thakeng.
