Members of Welkom Public Order Policing arrested a suspected drug dealer after receiving information that learners at a high school in Welkom had been caught with dagga.
The operation, led by WO Thabo Booy, was launched after the unit had received the information from a teacher at the school.
On 23 April the police members approached learners to interrogate them, which resulted in a house in Thabong being searched.
When they saw the police, the owner of the house tried to hide the dagga behind the kitchen cupboard.
The police found 58 small ziplock packets and five medium-sized ziplock packets containing dagga that weighed 0,142 g.
They also found R2 568 in cash on the table.
A 40-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga.
