The Brandfort police have arrested a 34-year-old who, allegedly, fatally assaulted his girlfriend.
At about 02:45 on Sunday, 6 April, police officials were summoned to a fatal assault scene that occurred in Nonzamo Park, Brandfort.
On arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a 38-year-old woman lying on the bedroom floor. The body was covered in blood. The victim had sustained severe injuries on the upper arm and face.
“It is alleged that the suspect hit the victim repeatedly with a wooden stick after he had accused her of infidelity. The victim was declared dead at the scene. Police are investigating a case of murder,” says Sgt. Palesa Thabana, police spokersperson for Lejweleputswa.
The police confiscated a wooden stick with blood stains, and the male suspect was subsequently arrested for murder.
