A 33-year-old man has been arrested for attempted murder after severely assaulting his girlfriend.
The victim says she was at a tavern with her boyfriend on Saturday, 30 November, when they were approached by an unknown African male who requested to speak privately to her boyfriend.
Sgt. Palesa Thabana, Lejweleputswa District Corporate Communication, says the complainant alleges that she overheard the unknown male saying “you can have her”.
The boyfriend then allegedly assaulted her. After this he later bumped her with the car and drove over her. She sustained several serious injuries. He drove her to the hospital, where he left her,” says Thabana.
Tshepiso Mofokeng (33) was arrested and appeared in the Virginia Magistrates’ Court on Monday (02/12). He remains in custody.
