The Welkom Public Order Policing Unit arrested an 18-year-old foreign national for dealing in dagga and being in contravention of the Immigration Act.
The young man was arrested on Sunday (14/08) in Phokeng, Thabong.
The police were following up on information about a man who was in possession of suspected stolen electrical appliances. They were informed that the man intended to sell the items.
“The police members identified the house where the man was said to be, but rather they found a young man who was in possession of dagga with a street value of R800, and an amount of cash. He did not have documents to be in our country, South Africa,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa SAPS.
