It will be screened in Toronto where it will compete with numerous other films for the honours.

The filming of Axiomatic Truth took place in Welkom and its surrounding suburbs, in Matjhabeng during March and April 2023.

We are pleased to announce that 97% of the team working behind the scenes consisted of individuals, both men and women, from the Matjhabeng. Additionally, the whole cast was sourced in Matjhabeng.

“This not only allowed for the community to be actively involved in the production, but it also provided opportunities for local talent to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience.

“We believe in the importance of supporting and uplifting our community, and we are proud to have been able to do so through this project. The overwhelming support and enthusiasm of the local community has been truly inspiring, and we are grateful for the contributions and hard work of everyone involved in making this production a success,” says Skeelo.

“We eagerly anticipate maintaining our partnership with our local talent, as we proudly represent South Africa on the global stage.”

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an institution authorised by the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture, provided the funding for this film.

However, we also value the local business companies that provided in-kind sponsorship to ensure the success of this film.
