Welkom residents must take note that the Telkom telephone lines to the Welkom 10111 Command Centre, also known as the Flying Squad Centre have been terminated.
The original landline, 057-353-2730, used by residents since the establishment of the centre, no longer works.
The new numbers to be used during emergencies, crime in progress, suspicious looking vehicles and persons, are 057-391-9500 and 057-391-9502.
“School learners and old people are sternly warned not to play with these numbers, but to use them effectively so that SAPS members are able to respond in time to crimes reported,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng,media liaison officer.
