The Welkom Police arrested three men for kidnapping a 26-year-old man and demanding a R30 000 ransom for his release.
The man was kidnapped on 19 July, and following up on information, members of the Welkom POP, Thabong Task Team and Thabong Serious and Violent Crimes members arrested the three suspects on 24 July.
The suspects are facing Kidnapping, Assault GBH, Conspiracy to commit a crime, Possession of unlicensed ammunitions and illegal immigration.
Relebohile Johannes Majoa (20), Rethabile Lebajoa (20) and Teboho Olifant (26) appeared in the Welkom Magistrates Court on 26 July, and the case was postponed to 6 September for further investigation.
