A 67-year-old Odendaalsrus man and his 43-year-old son have been arrested for being in possession of copper cable and housebreaking implements.
On Wednesday, 5 October, the police received intelligence-led information about a suspicious bakkie in the K10 section of Kutloanong.
The police went to the address where the vehicle was spotted and found a white bakkie loaded with copper cable and housebreaking implements. The two men who live at the address were arrested.
In another incident, a 40-year-old man from Extension 15, Bronville, was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
On Tuesday, 4 October, at about 14:30, members of the Welkom Anti-Gang unit received intelligence-led information about a male in possession of ammunition.
When the police searched the suspect’s house, they found a 9 mm Norinco pistol in the kitchen, along with live ammunition. The weapon’s serial number had been filed off.
The suspect could not produce papers to confirm legal possession, and he was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
