As part of Youth Month, Vista focuses on Const. Motlalepula Portia Mosunkutu, a beacon of service in Virginia.

Mosunkutu is more than just a law enforcement officer; she is a symbol of dedication, compassion, and leadership in the Virginia community of the Lejweleputswa District, Free State.

With six years of steadfast service at the Virginia Police Station, she continues to serve with passion and purpose under the station’s Community Service Centre (CSC) within the Visible Policing (Vispol) unit. Her duties are extensive: attending to complaints, resolving disputes, opening case dockets, certifying documents, assisting with affidavits, and offering crucial guidance to those in need. But for her, policing goes far beyond procedures and protocols. She believes in the importance of emotional support and often finds herself offering a listening ear and a caring heart when it is needed most.

Mosunkutu continues to be a guiding light for those around her.

With a heart for service and a vision for positive change, Mosunkutu is not just upholding the law, she is building a better, stronger, and more hopeful Virginia.

Her story is a reminder that true service means walking with the community, hand in hand, every step of the way.
