The Welkom Serious and Violent Crime unit is working tirelessly to trace the murderers of the Welkom doctor who was kidnapped and killed two weeks ago.
Dr Simon Ngcobo (62), his wife, and two daughters were attacked and robbed at gunpoint in their home in Doorn on 17 October. He was then kidnapped with his own vehicle.
A search was initiated, and with the help of a tracker the vehicle was found abandoned on the corner of Craib and Blenheim Avenue in Riebeeckstad, Welkom, at 23:00.
“His body was discovered 6 m from the vehicle. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his head and chest.
“His hands were tied behind his back,” says Capt. Stephen Thakeng, media liaison officer for the Lejweleputswa police. He had been shot execution style.
A case of House Robbery, Kidnapping and Murder was registered for further investigation.

Thakeng says the investigation team is working around the clock to trace these murderers. No arrests have been made.
