The Welkom police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect after Mongezi Selebano (39) succumed to his injuries.
The police are investigating a culpable homicide case following a hit-and-run incident that occurred on 11 August in Jan Hofmeyer Road.
Selebano and his friend were busy pushing his white Toyota Corolla that ran out of petrol. He was pushing the vehicle from the right side to have access to the steering wheel.
Suddenly an unknown white vehicle came from behind and hit the Selebano. The vehicle did not stop after the incident and drove off from the scene.
Selebano was seriously injured and was taken to hospital where he later passed away.
The police request that anyone with information that can help trace the vehicle that hit Selebano to come forward.
